UPDATE: Two killed, juvenile injured in LaGrange shooting; suspect arrested

Two people are dead and a juvenile is injured following a shooting Monday night at a LaGrange apartment complex, according to the LaGrange Police Department.

Officers were called to 1235 Hogansville Road around 9:41 p.m. Monday, Sept. 7, 2026, after receiving reports that multiple people had been shot.

When officers arrived, they found Drevion Brewer outside the apartment complex suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Brewer was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators determined the shooting occurred inside Apartment 922. Officers entered the apartment to check for additional victims and found Amarious Williams suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Williams was transported to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

A third victim, a juvenile, was located in the area suffering from a single gunshot wound to the leg. The juvenile was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Police said the juvenile’s injuries appear to be non-life-threatening.

The LaGrange Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division responded to the scene and began investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

Detectives identified Joshua Preston as a suspect. Police said Preston was located and taken into custody.

Preston has been charged with two counts of malice murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

Police said additional charges are expected.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
