Two arrested in Curtis Street deadly shooting; additional arrests pending

The Columbus Police Department has announced the arrests of two men in connection with a deadly shooting that occurred last month on Curtis Street.

According to the Columbus Police Department, Allen Williams and Richard Upshaw III have been arrested in connection with the death of 34-year-old Davon Wallace Grimes.

The shooting happened on August 13, 2026, in the 1100 block of Curtis Street in Columbus. Grimes was fatally shot during the incident.

Williams and Upshaw have both appeared in Recorder’s Court for preliminary hearings. Their cases were subsequently bound over to Superior Court for further proceedings.

Police say additional arrests are pending as the investigation continues.
