Firefighters responded to a reported house fire Saturday morning, Sept. 26, in the 1200 block of Denson Drive, across from Opelika Middle School.

The call came in at approximately 10:37 a.m. CDT.

Opelika Fire Department responded with Engine 1, Engine 3, Engine 2, Ladder 1 and a battalion truck, along with Opelika Police Department.
The fire was reportedly located in a back bedroom of the home.

CNAW2News crews at the scene witnessed firefighters actively working to suppress the fire with water while fans were being used to ventilate the home after smoke filled the residence.

Three residents of the home appeared to be sitting outside as firefighters conducted operations.

The extent of the damage and whether anyone was injured was not immediately available.
