Three people were transported to area hospitals Monday evening following a serious two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Alabama Highway 169 and Lee Road 146 in Beauregard.

First responders were notified of the crash around 6:41 p.m. CST on Monday, September 28, 2026.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office, Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, EAMC Emergency Medical Service and Beauregard Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene.

Officials said both vehicles involved sustained heavy damage.

One of the three patients was transported by Haynes LifeFlight to Piedmont Columbus Regional Midtown campus. A landing zone was established on property next to Dupree Motors for the medical helicopter.

This was the second serious crash reported at the same intersection within the past week involving a medical helicopter response.

The intersection was shut down but later reopened.
