A heavy police presence is underway Tuesday morning in Columbus.

The presence is taking place on Talbotton Road, directly in front of Hannan Elementary Magnet Academy.

Officers with the Columbus Police Department and the Muscogee County School District Police Department are on the scene.

Motor Squad officers appear to be investigating an incident.

Crime scene tape was used at the scene, but later taken down.

There appears to be no public safety threat to any students or staff. Details remain unclear.
