Brothers arrested in drug trafficking search warrant in Russell County

Two brothers are in the Russell County Jail after a drug trafficking investigation.

The duo were arrested following an eight-month narcotics investigation regarding a local trafficking organization in Muscogee County, Georgia, and Russell County, Alabama.

The investigation was conducted by the Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office Collaborative Intelligence Group, the Russell County Sheriff’s Office, and the GBI Gang Task Force.

The investigation began on May 1, 2025, when the Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office Collaborative Intelligence Group executed a narcotics search warrant in Muscogee County, GA. This search warrant resulted in seizing 12.2 pounds of marijuana, with an estimated street value of $55,470.00, 3 firearms, $16,645.00 in US Currency, and 2 vehicles. Both brothers, Jacob and Maurice Robinson were arrested and charged by the Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office. 

Eight months later, on Saturday, January 10, 2026, the Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office and Russell County Sheriff’s Office executed a narcotics search warrant in Russell County, Alabama. 

This investigation resulted in the arrest of two brothers, Jacob Robinson and Maurice Robinson. The search warrant resulted in the recovery of a trafficking amount of marijuana and a firearm from a convicted felon.

26 pounds of Marijuana with an estimated street value of $117,930.00, THC vapes, one Smith & Wesson M&P 9MM, one vehicle, and $2,100.00 in U.S. currency were recovered. the Smiths & Wesson M&P 9MM was reported stolen by CPD, according to authorities.

Jacob and Maurice Robinson are currently booked in the Russell County Jail.

Maurice Robinson is charged with Trafficking Marijuana, Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Receiving Stolen Property (Firearm).

His brother, Jacob Robinson, is charged with Trafficking Marijuana, Certain Persons Forbidden, Receiving Stolen Property (Firearm), and Unlawful Possession Of Controlled Substance.

“This 8-month investigation resulted in the seizure of a trafficking amount of marijuana in Muscogee County, GA, and Russell County, Alabama,” according to the Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office.

38.2 pounds of marijuana with an estimated street value of $173,400.00, 4 firearms — one of which was reported stolen by Columbus police, three vehicles, and $18,745.00 in U.S. currency were seized in the eight-month period.

This case remains an active investigation, and additional charges are pending, authorities say.
