What is the Friday night football weather forecast for Columbus GA and east Alabama?
Friday night games across the CNAW area are dry and nearly calm, with kickoff temperatures from 68 in LaFayette and Valley to 75 in Columbus, cooling to the low 60s by the fourth quarter.

Take the bleacher seat you want, because tonight asks almost nothing of you. Every stadium in the viewing area, from Lanett to Cuthbert, has a rain chance of zero, the sky is mostly cloudy, and the wind is 5 miles an hour or dead calm. The flags on the goalposts will barely move.
The surprising part is not how warm it is at kickoff but how differently the towns fall off afterward. Only 7 degrees separate the warmest stadiums from the coolest when the ball is teed up, yet two hours later Greenville is down to 60 while Randolph Clay's crowd in Cuthbert is still sitting in 67.
In Columbus, where Shaw, Hardaway, Columbus, Spencer, Kendrick, Jordan, Carver and Northside play, along with Calvary Christian, Pacelli and Brookstone, it is 75 around kickoff and 67 by the fourth quarter, with humidity near 51 percent. That is short-sleeve weather for most of the night. Across the river in Phenix City, Central holds steadier: 69 at kickoff and still 66 late.
The warmest stands are east and south of Columbus. Chattahoochee County in Cusseta, Marion County in Buena Vista, Schley County in Ellaville and Webster County in Preston all start at 75 and ease to 66. Stewart County in Lumpkin starts at 74, Taylor County in Butler at 74, and Central-Talbotton at 73.
The coolest nights are in Chambers County and around Tuskegee. LaFayette and Chambers Academy begin at 68 and settle to 62, and Valley and Beulah do the same. Booker T. Washington in Tuskegee starts at 68 but only drops to 65. Lanett and Springwood are the outlier up there, a full 5 degrees warmer at kickoff at 73.
Around LaGrange, where LaGrange, Troup County and LaGrange Academy play, it is 72 at kickoff and 63 by the fourth quarter. Callaway's crowd in Hogansville goes from 71 to 61, Manchester from 71 to 62, and Greenville from 70 to 60 with no wind at all, the coolest finish in the area. Harris County in Hamilton falls from 72 to 64.
In the Auburn-Opelika area, Auburn and Lee-Scott start at 70 and finish at 65, while Opelika and Beauregard go 69 to 64. Loachapoka and Notasulga barely budge, 69 to 66. Smiths Station and Glenwood run 70 to 65, and Russell County in Seale 70 to 64.
Farther south, Eufaula sits at 70 with calm air, and Barbour County in Clayton at 69, where humidity near 76 percent will make the evening feel a little closer and heavier than it does up in Harris County. Quitman County in Georgetown is 73 at kickoff.
What to bring: nothing extra at kickoff anywhere. Tuck a hoodie or light jacket in the bag if you are in Greenville, Hogansville, Manchester or LaGrange, where the second half slides into the low 60s. Leave the umbrella in the truck.
The sun sets at 6:50 in Columbus now, so the lights will already be carrying the field before the first snap.
