Hot water temporarily shut off overnight on two floors at Muscogee County Jail due to leak; repairs ongoing

Two floors of the Muscogee County Jail will not have hot water overnight, authorities announced Thursday afternoon.

A leak reportedly caused the temporary shutdown of hot water which is expected to take place overnight until Friday morning.

The Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office assures all inmates will have access to cold/drinking water during this disruption.

“Hot water will be restored on Friday and will be available through the weekend,” the sheriff’s office said. “Plumbers will resume repair work on Monday, and the hot water will be temporarily turned off, periodically, only when plumbers are actively working on the leak.“

Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office states they will provide an update once all repairs have been made.
