A homicide investigation is now underway after a body was found Tuesday afternoon off Macon Road.

Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan says the body was found at an abandoned warehouse at 3150 Macon Road on Tuesday. August 19, 2025. The body was later identified as 66-year-old Edwin Grier. Grier suffered blunt force trauma to the head and was pronounced deceased at 5:28 P.M.

An autopsy has been scheduled and Grier’s family has been notified. The investigation remain ongoing by the Columbus Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit.
