Auburn Police have just confirmed to CNAW2News that a person of interest is in custody in connection to the murder of retired veterinary professor, Dr. Julie Gard Schnuelle.

Dr. Schnuelle, 59, was found dead from apparent assault injuries in a wooded area of Kiesel ParkC located on Chadwick Lane in Auburn, on September 6, 2025.

Dr. Gard Schnuelle’s red Ford F-150 was missing from near the scene, and police are seeking information about it.
