Lee County first responders are on the scene of a horrific motor vehicle crash Friday.

The crash, which involved two vehicles, occurred at the intersection of Lee Road 140 and Alabama Highway 169 around 10:47 a.m. central time on Friday, June 12, 2026.

Officials with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, Salem Volunteer Fire Department, Beauregard Volunteer Fire Department, East Alabama Medical Center Emergency Medical Services and the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency responded to the scene.

Lee County Sheriff Jay Jones confirmed a man and woman were pronounced deceased on the scene. Both were occupants of the same vehicle.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency remains investigating the crash. This is a developing story.
