Family members have contacted CNAW2News seeking the public’s assistance in locating 76-year-old Fran (Francis) Vancour, who was reported missing Monday afternoon.

According to family members, Vancour left his home on Lee Road 2004 at approximately 11:44 a.m. Monday, August 17, 2026, and has not been seen since.

Lee County deputies have been made aware and are investigating.. His last known location was near Lee Road 235 and Lee Road 499, according to his family.

He was last seen wearing a tan baseball cap with an American flag, blue t-shirt, gray sweatpants, a white jacket and unknown shoes.

Family members say Vancour left his phone and identification at home and does not have identification with him. They also say he is on medications and did not take water with him when he left.

Anyone who may have seen Vancour in the Smiths Station or Phenix City area is urged to contact the Lee County Sheriff’s Office immediately at 334-749-5651 or 911.
