The Columbus Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating a missing man who was last seen Sunday morning in Columbus.
According to police, 23-year-old Kiernon Swann was last seen around 7 a.m. on May 10, 2026, in the area of the 2800 block of Airport Thruway.
In a public social media post, his mother, Jamie Swann, said Kiernon recently graduated from basic training on Friday, May 8, and was one of only four individuals in his squad to receive a promotion.
“He is bright, smart, dedicated and very motivated,” Jamie Swann wrote. “No he did not go AWOL. Not even in Kiernon’s nature to quit something he truly believes in especially with such a promotion. Something is not right!!”
Jamie Swann said her son rarely uses social media or cell phones.
Columbus Police described Swann as approximately 5-foot-10 and 175 pounds. He was reportedly last seen wearing a black sweatshirt, ball cap and black-framed glasses.
Anyone with information regarding Kiernon Swann’s whereabouts is urged to contact 911, the Columbus Police Department’s Special Victims Unit at 706-225-3449, or lead investigator Detective Meagan Cole at 706-225-4242.
