Columbus police are investigating two separate shootings that occurred overnight in the Midtown and Linwood areas of the city, leaving at least three people injured.

The first shooting occurred in the 1200 block of 22nd Street late Wednesday night.

CNAW2News began receiving reports of the incident around 11:40 p.m. on Wednesday, June 24, 2026. At least two ambulances responded to the scene and transported two victims to Piedmont Columbus Regional. Their conditions have not been released.

As officers investigated, a white Honda Accord with apparent blood spatter was found crashed in the 1400 block of 13th Avenue near the Brown Nicholson Terrace senior residences and Linwood Tillis Park.

Crime Scene Investigators and patrol officers were seen examining the vehicle, searching nearby streets, sidewalks and surrounding areas for evidence. At least 18 evidence markers were placed around the crashed vehicle, extending onto a nearby sidewalk and basketball court. Investigators also placed at least 16 evidence markers along 22nd Street.

A witness, Felicity Rivera, told CNAW2News she was driving through the area shortly before emergency crews arrived when she observed a person wearing a red hoodie standing over what appeared to be either a person or an object in distress.
“A few minutes later after I was coming back from the corner store, I seen the police and the fire trucks coming and I knew something bad happened,” Rivera said.
Rivera said the violence is concerning, especially for residents who believe they live in safer parts of the city.
“It’s showing me that it’s all over the city and it’s kind of scary,” she said.
She also urged members of the community to put an end to the violence.
“Why are we doing this to each other?” Rivera said. “To kill or hurt a person, it’s a split-second decision. It’s a lifetime decision. Both lives are over. It’s ridiculous and it has to stop.”

Just a few hours later, officers responded to another shooting in the Linwood neighborhood.

The second shooting occurred around 2:40 a.m. Thursday, June 25, 2026, in the 1100 block of 17th Street.

At least one person was reportedly shot. The victim’s condition has not been released.

Investigators placed at least 12 evidence markers throughout the scene, with numerous shell casings scattered across the roadway.

Crime Scene Investigators were observed examining nearby homes, a backyard and at least two vehicles that appeared to have been struck by gunfire.

It is unclear whether the two shootings are connected.
The investigations remain ongoing. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Columbus Police Department.
