UPDATE: Search canceled. Mr. Tatum found deceased.

Family members and authorities are searching for a missing Opelika man who was last seen on July 1, 2026.

Jacob Tatum, 24, was last seen at approximately 7:30 a.m. at 7055 Lee Road 146 in Opelika.

Authorities say he may be driving a brown Nissan Altima.

Tatum is described as 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing about 185 pounds, with brown hair, brown eyes, and a beard. He was last seen wearing tan cargo shorts, a bluish teal shirt, and red Nike high top and shoes.

Anyone with information about Jacob Tatum’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Lee County Sheriff’s Office immediately.

In a statement to CNAW2NEWS, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office said, “We are aware of the post and are in contact with the family.”
