Waverly Hall woman fatally shot during domestic dispute; suspect wanted

A 35-year-old woman was fatally shot Monday morning during a domestic dispute at a residence on Georgia Highway 208 in Waverly Hall, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.

Harris County 911 received a report of an unresponsive woman in the front yard of a residence at 9300 block of Georgia Highway 208 at approximately 12:37 p.m. on August 17, 2026.

Responding deputies discovered Nicole Karastury Elliott, 35, deceased in the yard from what appeared to be a single gunshot wound.

According to investigators, Elliott had been involved in a domestic dispute with 36-year-old Andrew Roy Harris of Phenix City, Alabama, at approximately 10:04 a.m. During the dispute, Elliott was fatally shot.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division conducted the follow-up investigation, while the Georgia Bureau of Investigation processed the crime scene.

Suspect wanted

Investigators say Harris fled the scene and is currently wanted by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office on charges of Felony Murder and Aggravated Assault.

Harris was last seen on foot in Phenix City, Alabama, after fleeing the America’s Best Value Inn near the U.S. Highway 280 Bypass.

Authorities are warning the public not to approach Harris if he is spotted.

Anyone who sees Harris or has information regarding his whereabouts is urged to call 911 immediately or contact the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.

The investigation remains active. Authorities say additional information will be released when appropriate.

Sheriff Mike Jolley and the Harris County Sheriff’s Office extended their deepest sympathy to Elliott’s family and loved ones, noting that domestic violence can bring devastating consequences to victims, families and entire communities.

Authorities are asking the community to keep Elliott’s family in their thoughts and prayers as they cope with the loss.
