A police presence is underway late Friday night near the Budgetel on Victory Drive in Columbus.

The activity was reported around 11:20 p.m. Friday, Sept. 4, 2026, in the area of Airview Drive and North Lumpkin Road, as well as the Budgetel located near the intersection of Victory Drive and Airview Drive.

CNAW2News is told an injured person was seen being treated by medics near the intersection of North Lumpkin Road and Airview Drive.

A crime scene has also been established at the Budgetel.

At this time, it remains unclear what led to the police presence or whether the incidents at the two locations are connected.

The police activity comes approximately two weeks after a shooting at the Budgetel that left one person wounded and resulted in an arrest.
