Auburn Police announce post-game traffic changes for 2026 football season

Auburn University home football games will bring significant changes to traffic patterns throughout the city following games during the 2026 season.

The Auburn Police Department is reminding motorists to plan their routes in advance and pay close attention to traffic pattern maps, posted signs and public safety personnel directing traffic.

The following post-game traffic changes will be in effect during the 2026 football season:

North Donahue Drive
* All lanes north of Jordan-Hare Stadium will travel one-way northbound between Heisman Drive and Bragg Avenue/MLK Drive.
* South Donahue Drive will be closed to the public from War Eagle Way to West Samford Avenue.
Magnolia Avenue
* Right turn only from Village View Lane onto Magnolia Avenue.
* Left turn only onto North Donahue Drive from eastbound Magnolia Avenue.
Wire Road
* Left turn only from War Eagle Way onto Wire Road.
* Right turn only onto West Thach Avenue from Wire Road.
Heisman Drive
* Left turn only onto Wire Road.
West Thach Avenue
* Left turn only onto Hemlock Drive from westbound Thach Avenue.

Donahue Drive and Magnolia Avenue Intersection

North Donahue Drive:
* All lanes will travel one-way northbound at the Magnolia Avenue intersection.
* Traffic may travel straight or turn right at Magnolia Avenue.
Magnolia Avenue:
* Normal traffic patterns will remain in effect east of the Donahue Drive intersection.
* The eastbound lane will end just west of the Donahue Drive intersection.
* Left turn only onto North Donahue Drive.

Donahue Drive and Glenn Avenue Intersection

North Donahue Drive:
* All lanes will travel one-way northbound.
* Traffic may turn left, travel straight or turn right at Glenn Avenue.
Glenn Avenue:
* Eastbound traffic: left turn only onto North Donahue Drive.
* Westbound traffic: travel straight or turn right only onto North Donahue Drive.

Donahue Drive, MLK Drive and Bragg Avenue Intersection

North Donahue Drive:
* Traffic may turn right onto Bragg Avenue, turn left onto MLK Drive or continue straight on Donahue Drive.
* Traffic will return to a two-way pattern north of the MLK Drive/Bragg Avenue intersection.
Bragg Avenue:
* Traffic may travel straight onto MLK Drive or turn right onto North Donahue Drive.
* Left turns will not be permitted.
MLK Drive:
* Eastbound traffic may only turn left onto North Donahue Drive.

Samford Avenue, College Street and Dean Road Intersections

College Street:
* Normal northbound and southbound traffic patterns will remain in effect.
Samford Avenue:
* All lanes of traffic will travel one-way eastbound.
* Traffic may turn left or right onto Dean Road.

Auburn Police are asking motorists to remain alert, follow the posted traffic signs and instructions from public safety personnel.

Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead before leaving campus or downtown following Auburn home football games, as traffic congestion and temporary restrictions are expected.
