How cold will it get in Columbus GA this weekend?
Columbus drops to 41 Saturday morning and 42 Sunday morning after a cold front clears the valley Friday afternoon, with afternoon highs of 70 Saturday and 73 Sunday.

This afternoon is the warm one. Columbus should reach 78 at the airport, about 7 degrees above the normal high of 71 for November 6. That still leaves plenty of room under the record for the date, which is 85, set in 2022.
The warmth has an expiration time on it. Forecasters at the National Weather Service in Peachtree City are following a cold front being dragged southeast by a large area of low pressure near the Great Lakes. The light showers that came with it this morning stayed well east of us, over east-central Georgia, and they end by early afternoon. What arrives here instead is the air behind the front: a drier northwest wind that will be obvious tonight in LaGrange, Hamilton, Auburn and Opelika long before it is obvious in Eufaula.
Columbus drops to 41 Saturday morning under mostly sunny skies, with a high of 70. Sunday morning starts at 42 and the afternoon climbs to 73 under full sun. Forecasters expect overnight temperatures to reach the 30s in the colder spots of the region from Saturday morning through at least Tuesday morning, and the Birmingham office has put medium to high odds on frost Sunday and Monday mornings in parts of its coverage area, mainly the far northern counties and the Black Belt. In the valley itself, the forecast lows stay in the 40s.
The other half of this pattern is how dry it is. Columbus has measured 0.07 of an inch of rain this month through Thursday, against a normal of 0.56 by that date. The year as a whole is still running wet: 43.67 inches since January 1, about 3 inches ahead of the normal 40.63. Rain chances hold under 10 percent through the middle of next week, with highs in Columbus in the low to mid 70s Monday through Thursday.
If you have been waiting on a long dry stretch to paint a fence in Phenix City, put down pine straw in LaGrange or get a roof looked at in Opelika, this is the week the weather finally stops arguing with you.
