What is the weather this week in Columbus, Georgia?
Columbus warms into the mid 70s Sunday through Wednesday with essentially no rain, then cools to a high of 62 and a low of 35 by Friday.

Walk out onto the Chattahoochee RiverWalk in Columbus at sunrise Sunday and you will want a jacket, with the morning starting near 42 degrees. Keep it in the car anyway, because by mid-afternoon the same spot will be sitting at 74 under a cloudless sky.
Here is the number worth repeating: Columbus has measured 0.07 of an inch of rain so far this month, where the long-term normal by this date is 0.80. The year as a whole is still on the wet side — 43.67 inches since January 1 against a normal of 40.87, nearly three inches ahead — but the last few weeks have given almost nothing back.
That pattern holds. Forecasters at the National Weather Service office in Peachtree City expect rain chances to stay under 10 percent across central and west Georgia through at least early next week. High pressure is parked overhead, the air moving in behind it is dry, and the main storm track is running well to our north. Sunday reaches 74 in Columbus, Monday and Tuesday both climb to 76, and Wednesday holds at 75. The normal high for early November here is 71, so that is a solid five to ten degrees above average.
The cold side of this comes at night. Peachtree City has flagged the chance of frost across parts of north and west Georgia Monday morning, and in our area the coldest stops are the northern ones — Hogansville, Greenville and LaGrange all start Monday in the 30s. Thursday brings a slight chance of showers, about one chance in six, and Friday cools to a high of 62 with a 35-degree start.
If you have put anything new in the ground around Hamilton, Opelika or Cuthbert, water it by hand this week. The soil a couple of inches down in Columbus is still 61 degrees, warm enough for roots to keep working, and nothing is going to fall from the sky to help them.
