What is the weather this week in Columbus, Georgia?
Columbus warms from near 70 degrees Sunday to 78 Monday and 80 Tuesday before a 62 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms arrives Wednesday.

Walk the RiverWalk in Columbus or Phenix City this morning and you get the full November opening: a solid gray deck of cloud, drizzle beading on the railings, and an east wind steady enough to push the spray sideways. Forecasters at the National Weather Service office in Peachtree City expect gusts up to 20 mph through the day.
The reason is a shallow pocket of cool air wedged in against the Georgia hills by high pressure sitting off to the northeast. That wedge keeps the wind out of the east, keeps the clouds low, and puts a lid on the afternoon. Columbus should reach about 70 degrees, a few degrees short of the normal high of 73, with Eufaula and the towns south of Columbus the warmest spots at around the low 70s, and LaGrange and Hamilton stuck cooler. The showers are the light, on-and-off kind. Whatever falls will barely wet the gauge.
Then the pattern turns. Monday brings partly sunny skies and 78 degrees in Columbus, and Tuesday climbs to 80. That is well above normal for the first week of November, though nowhere near the 88 degrees Columbus hit on this date back in 2016, which is still the record for November 1.
Wednesday is the day to watch. Winds aloft swing around to the southwest and pull deep, humid air north out of the Gulf, with dew points climbing into the 60s ahead of a cold front. Columbus carries a 62 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms Wednesday, with a 40 percent chance lingering Thursday. Friday turns sunny and 79, with a cool 52-degree morning behind it.
October finished wet in Columbus: 3.30 inches for the month, about half an inch above normal, and 43.60 inches since January 1, roughly three and a half inches ahead of where the year usually stands. If you have outdoor work, Monday and Tuesday are the clean days.
