How cold will it be at the bus stop Monday morning in Columbus and LaGrange?
At 7 AM Monday it will be 59 degrees in Columbus with a 15 mph breeze and 54 degrees in LaGrange, with rain chances no higher than 8 percent anywhere in the viewing area.

Monday morning is about as gentle as a November bus stop gets around here. At 7 AM, the coldest corner in the whole viewing area is 52 degrees, the warmest is 59, and nowhere has a rain chance above 8 percent. The sun comes up at 6:57, so stops will have just enough early light to see by.
The cool end of the map is the northern tier. Hogansville, where Callaway students wait, starts at 52 under mostly cloudy skies. Greenville is 53. Around LaGrange, home to LaGrange, Troup County and LaGrange Academy, it is 54 with a 10 mph breeze, and Manchester matches that at 54 with a little more sun breaking through. These are the four stops where a hoodie or light jacket genuinely earns its keep.
Chambers County sits a notch milder. Lanett, with Lanett and Springwood, starts at 55. Valley and Beulah are at 56, and LaFayette and Chambers Academy also 56. Each of those towns carries an 8 percent rain chance, which is small enough to leave the umbrella in the closet.
The wind is the story in a handful of places. Hamilton, where Harris County students wait, and Butler, home to Taylor County, both have a 15 mph breeze at 57 degrees. Columbus and Phenix City start at 59 with that same 15 mph wind, which will make a short-sleeve morning feel more like the low 50s on an exposed corner. That goes for the whole Columbus list, from Shaw, Hardaway, Columbus and Spencer to Kendrick, Jordan, Carver, Northside, Calvary Christian, Pacelli and Brookstone, and for Central-Phenix City across the river.
Auburn, with Auburn and Lee-Scott, is the warmest breezy stop at 59 degrees and 15 mph. Opelika, where Beauregard and Opelika students wait, is 58 with a lighter wind, as are Loachapoka, Notasulga and Smiths Station, where Smiths Station and Glenwood sit at 58. Tuskegee and Booker T. Washington start at 59, and Russell County in Seale at 58.
The rural Georgia stops south and east of Columbus lean partly sunny and dry. Chattahoochee County in Cusseta, Marion County in Buena Vista, Randolph Clay in Cuthbert and Schley County in Ellaville all begin at 58 with a breeze near 15 mph. Stewart County in Lumpkin is 59. Webster County in Preston and Quitman County in Georgetown are 57, Central-Talbotton 56. Down in the Wiregrass, Eufaula and Barbour County in Clayton both start at 59.
The practical advice: a light hoodie from Hogansville up through Manchester, a windbreaker rather than a heavy coat anywhere the wind is running 15 mph, and nothing at all for the southern tier. Dress in a layer that can come off, because Columbus climbs to 78 by afternoon and that jacket is going to end up stuffed in a backpack by lunch.
No school or town by that name in the viewing area.
Forecast: National Weather Service, 7 AM on each town’s own clock — Central in Alabama, Eastern in Georgia.
