What is the weekend boating forecast for Lake Harding, West Point Lake and Lake Eufaula?
Saturday and Sunday are sunny and rain-free on all three lakes, with cold mornings near 43 at West Point Lake and calm, sunny afternoons reaching 71 at Lake Harding and 74 at Lake Eufaula on Sunday.

If you only get one trip to the water this weekend, make it Sunday afternoon. The wind is forecast at zero on both Lake Harding and West Point Lake at 2 PM Sunday, and only 5 mph down at Lake Eufaula. Both Saturday and Sunday are sunny with a zero percent rain chance at all three lakes, but Sunday afternoon is the glassy one.
Start with the mornings, because they are colder than the calendar might suggest. At West Point Lake, by LaGrange and West Point, it will be 46 degrees at 8 AM Saturday and 43 at 8 AM Sunday, both under a clear sky with the wind calm or nearly so. That is the coldest dock in the area. Lake Harding, on the Georgia-Alabama line north of Columbus, runs 48 Saturday morning and 45 Sunday morning. Down at Lake Eufaula, 8 AM is 54 on Saturday and 52 on Sunday, a solid 8 or 9 degrees warmer than West Point at the same hour.
Afternoons are a different season altogether. West Point Lake climbs to 65 by 2 PM Saturday with the wind at 5 mph, then 69 and dead calm Sunday. Lake Harding reaches 67 Saturday afternoon with a 10 mph breeze, the only real wind anywhere on the water this weekend, and even that stays well below the roughly 15 mph point where a small boat starts taking a beating. Sunday afternoon Harding sits at 71 with no wind at all.
Lake Eufaula is the warm end of the viewing area both days, as usual. Saturday afternoon runs 71 with a 5 mph breeze under mostly sunny skies, and Sunday afternoon tops out at 74 and sunny with the same light wind. Standing on a dock at Lakepoint at 2 PM Sunday, you would not guess the morning started in the low 50s.
The number to plan around is the swing. On Sunday, West Point Lake goes from 43 at 8 AM to 69 at 2 PM, and Lake Harding from 45 to 71. That is a 26-degree change in six hours. Dress for it in layers you can shed: a jacket and gloves for the first run out, a long-sleeve shirt by mid morning, a t-shirt by early afternoon. Anglers heading out at first light at Harding or West Point should expect cold fingers on the first hour of casts, and anyone just sitting on the dock with coffee will want a blanket until the sun gets up over the trees.
One last piece of planning. Columbus is down to 10 hours and 45 minutes of daylight and losing about another 1.7 minutes a day, with the sun setting at 5:45. An afternoon launch that felt generous in September now leaves you loading the trailer in the dark, so set your turnaround time before you leave the ramp.
Each day, 8 AM → 2 PM.
