What is the weekend boating and fishing weather on Lake Eufaula, Lake Harding and West Point Lake?
Saturday and Sunday will be light-wind days on all three lakes, with mornings from 42 degrees at West Point Lake to 56 at Lake Eufaula and afternoons in the 60s to low 70s.

The most useful thing on the weekend board is a number that never shows up: the wind. From Saturday morning through Sunday afternoon, no forecast hour on Lake Harding, West Point Lake or Lake Eufaula tops 10 miles an hour, and most of them sit at 5 or less. A small boat starts to take a beating somewhere past about 15 mph, so a jon boat, a kayak or a pontoon should ride easily on any of the three, both days.
The temperature is where the weekend splits. At 8 o'clock Sunday morning it will be 42 degrees at West Point Lake, 44 at Lake Harding and 50 at Lake Eufaula. Saturday morning runs a few degrees milder at 48, 51 and 56. Afternoons are a different season entirely: every lake climbs into the 60s or low 70s by 2 o'clock.
On Lake Harding, the stretch of the Chattahoochee on the Georgia-Alabama line north of Columbus, Saturday starts at 51 under full sun with a 5 mph breeze and no rain, then warms to 69 by 2 o'clock with the wind picking up to about 10 and mostly sunny skies. That 10 is the breeziest figure anywhere on the water this weekend, and it is still light. Sunday morning is colder at 44 with a 5 mph wind, and the afternoon settles at 66 with the wind back to 5 and only a 4 percent rain chance.
West Point Lake, between West Point and LaGrange, has the coldest dock sitting of the weekend. Saturday at 8 it is 48 and sunny with a 5 mph breeze, warming to 67 by 2 with the same light wind and no rain at all. Sunday at 8 it is 42 degrees with the wind forecast at zero, which is as flat as the water gets, then 65 by the afternoon with a 2 percent rain chance.
Lake Eufaula is the warm end of the viewing area, and it shows. Saturday morning is 56 and sunny, and by 2 o'clock it is 73 under mostly sunny skies with a 5 mph breeze and no rain, the warmest number on either lake day. Sunday opens at 50 with no wind and a 1 percent rain chance, then reaches 68 in the afternoon with an 8 percent chance of a shower. That 8 percent is the highest rain number anywhere on the water this weekend, which tells you how quiet the pattern is.
The reason the mornings bite and the afternoons feel fine is the dry air arriving behind this week's front. With clear skies and little wind, heat escapes to space overnight and temperatures fall hard, then the November sun hauls them back up more than 20 degrees by mid afternoon. Water lets go of its heat far more slowly than air does, so the lake surface will still hold warmth from this week's 80-degree days long after the air above it has turned cold.
Dress for two days in one. If you are backing a trailer down at first light anywhere near Hamilton, Lumpkin, Georgetown or LaGrange, take a real jacket, gloves and a thermos, and plan on peeling all of it off by 11. If you are driving over from Auburn or Opelika for the afternoon, sunglasses and a long-sleeve shirt will cover it.
Each day, 8 AM → 2 PM.
