Fire crews extinguished an early morning house fire in Russell County.

The fire was reported around 7:30 a.m. eastern time on Thursday, May 7, 2026.

Crawford, Fort Mitchell, Ladonia and Uchee Creek volunteer fire department responded to the scene located on Dairy Road, which is in a residential area off of U.S. Highway 431 South.

Phenix City police officers and medical personnel with CARE Ambulance also responded on the scene.

Heavy smoke and flames could be seen billowing from the structure. The fire was eventually extinguished.
