Any address, any day. Up to 9 days out, it’s our forecast. Further out, an extended forecast from 30 years of weather here.
Our automated weather channel is on the air around the clock: the radar, the temperatures, the week ahead — and when a warning hits the Valley, it stays with the storm.
How cold will it be Monday morning in LaGrange and Columbus GA?
At 7 AM Monday it should be 37 degrees in LaGrange and 44 in Columbus, with Hogansville the coldest stop in the viewing area at 35 and Phenix City the mildest at 48.

Monday morning will hand the Valley a 13-degree split. At 7 AM in Hogansville, where Callaway students wait, the thermometer should read 35 degrees. At the same minute in Phenix City, Auburn and Opelika, it will be 48. Same sunshine, same calm air, a very different coat.
That spread comes from a clear, still night. When there are no clouds to hold heat in and no wind to mix the air, the ground radiates its warmth straight out to space, and the chilled air slides downhill and pools in the low spots and river bottoms. The towns along the northern edge of the viewing area, and anywhere that sits in a hollow, end up several degrees colder than the larger towns to the south.
The cold corner of the map is Troup, Meriwether and Chambers counties. Hogansville is the coldest stop at 35. LaGrange, where LaGrange, Troup County and LaGrange Academy students stand, will be 37, as will Greenville. Across the state line in Lanett, where Lanett and Springwood are, it will be 38. Manchester checks in at 40 with a light 5-mile-an-hour breeze, which is enough to make 40 feel like less.
The middle of the area settles into the low 40s. Georgetown, home of Quitman County, and Talbotton, home of Central-Talbotton, will both be 41. Cusseta, where Chattahoochee County students wait, and Preston, home of Webster County, will be 42. Hamilton for Harris County, Buena Vista for Marion County, Cuthbert for Randolph Clay, Lumpkin for Stewart County and Butler for Taylor County all sit at 43.
Columbus will be 44 at 7 AM, which covers the stops for Shaw, Hardaway, Columbus, Spencer, Kendrick, Jordan, Carver, Northside, Pacelli, Calvary Christian and Brookstone. LaFayette and Chambers Academy in LaFayette are also 44, and Ellaville, home of Schley County, is 44. Valley and Beulah in Valley, and Eufaula, warm up to 45.
The mildest stops are east and south in Alabama. Clayton, where Barbour County students wait, Tuskegee for Booker T. Washington and Seale for Russell County all start at 47. Auburn and Lee-Scott in Auburn, Opelika and Beauregard in Opelika, Smiths Station and Glenwood, plus Loachapoka and Notasulga, all begin at 48.
Rain is not part of Monday anywhere in the viewing area. Every town on the list is forecast to be sunny at 7 AM with a zero percent rain chance, and the wind is calm to about 5 miles an hour. Leave the umbrella in the closet.
The practical problem is the back half of the day. Columbus is headed for a high near 76 on Monday, so a child who leaves the house in Hogansville or LaGrange at 35 to 37 degrees will be walking out of the building in the afternoon more than 30 degrees warmer. Layers beat a heavy coat. A hoodie over a short-sleeve shirt, and a real jacket plus gloves only at the coldest stops in Hogansville, LaGrange, Greenville and Lanett, will cover both ends of the day. The jacket that felt essential at sunrise is going to ride home tied to a backpack.
No school or town by that name in the viewing area.
Forecast: National Weather Service, 7 AM on each town’s own clock — Central in Alabama, Eastern in Georgia.
